South Bend, Indiana
Project Detail Information

The City of South Bend is interested in developing physical and visual enhancements to the City’s East Bank Village area to act as a catalyst for similar kinds of private sector development. Appealing to and attracting private development is a major concern of the City. The Client’s project scope includes street closures, parking and infrastructure improvements, and streetscape developments.
A portion of East Washington Street was closed to through traffic for the establishment of a plaza, fountain development, new pedestrian scale lighting, benches, bollards and ADA access improvements. A new parking lot has been positioned on a previously empty lot and includes ornamental fencing, parking lot lighting, landscaping, and an overhead trellis. The project’s streetscape enhancement includes the re-use of existing street brick within walkways, landscaping, lighting, directional signage, streetscape amenities, art sculpture, and related utilities and infrastructure elements.
