Mishawaka, Indiana
Project Detail Information

Designed as an extension of Lincoln Park in Mishawaka, Indiana, Kate’s Garden serves as a community space and memorial to former City Controller and long-time community leader Catherine “Kate” Kosanovich.
The City of Mishawaka Parks Department commissioned Lehman & Lehman to develop the overall master plan and design for Kate’s Garden. Design elements include a gazebo, flowering gardens, wildflowers, ornamental trees and decorative paving. Various service clubs donated money and labor toward the successful implementation of this beautiful, peaceful community space.
Today Kate’s Garden is also home to a large sculptural element by sculptor Tuck Langland. The garden is used for weddings and is an especially popular setting for outdoor photographs. Located adjacent to the Mishawaka Parks Department office, Kate’s Garden is anticipated to become a component of Mishawaka’s expanded riverwalk system.
