Cardinal Greenway Conceptual Design
Wayne County and Richmond, Indiana
Project Detail Information

Wayne County Commissioners and the City of Richmond received a Transportation Enhancement Grant to continue the next phase of the Cardinal Greenway corridor north of Richmond. The project team of Lehman & Lehman and the Bonar Group received the design contract to implement the pedestrian trail segment.
The design required integrating creative at-grade pedestrian crossings for a 4-lane highway, several two lane county roads and a farm equipment crossing. The design incorporated details similar to those already established within the constructed segments of the Cardinal Greenway Corridor while introducing new elements to reduce long term maintenance, prohibit parking in non-trailhead areas, and to enhance overall aesthetics.
Lehman & Lehman prepared the conceptual trail design and alignment, site amenities and furnishings, signage, and graphic preparation for public comment.
